HomeI had to laugh - I talked to my Mom when I got home and she said she had a run in with the police today.. I'm like WHAT, you? She say yeah, just getting my oil changed. I said how the heck do you manage that getting your oil changed? Apparently she was pulling out of her neighborhood onto a main road that has hills from both directions. She looked both ways twice and no one coming so she pulled out. She said she heard brakes screeching and car went into someone's driveway. It scared her, but she didn't think any more of it and kept going. She got her oil changed and went home. A little while later a policeman showed up knocking on her door. He said he received a complaint that she ran someone off the road today and the other driver thought the car was stolen as fast as my Mom was driving. I'm laughing my butt off by now, because I know how my Mom drives and I know the intersection well that she is referring to. The cop asked some questions and aske if she had a sticker in the window for the oil change. My Mom said yes and I have the receipt too if you want to see that. The policeman didn't want to see it and asked her if she was in a hurry this morning. My Mom said in a hurry to get my oil changed? Kinda like whoopee that's a really good time... She said not at all, it was a beautiful day and she just wanted to get out of the house for a while. The cop started chuckling and said he was not going to write her a ticket and in looking at the intersection he believed the other car was speeding to have come up on her so quickly. People fly down that road and kids used to use it as a drag strip to jump the hills. Many hills were taken out because the kids were going airborn and hitting trees. My Mom was all embarassed because the neighbors all wondered what was going on with a cop in her drive way twice today. Once while she was getting oil changed and again when she got home. LMAO!!!

Bless her heart! That sounds like something that would happen to me! I know people behind me get upset because I don't push the speed limit, but I do go the limit and not one mph over that! I figure they can either back off or go around. They cannot occupy the same space that I am in, right?
Hi Grandma - I go the speed limit too and perhaps a mile or three over it. I drive on a busy road daily and although the speed limit is 55 most go 65. Yeah well, they can go around, because I don't want a ticket for speeding. If they ride on my bumper too long, I will just slow down more, so they get the idea. They can't get over because slower drivers that don't go the speed limit are in the right lane.
